To reduce our passengers' uncertainty concerning their trips (journey time and connections), and to save time, Veolia Transdev has developed the B Pass solution in Nice, France.
The benefit
Clients using the "Lignes d'Azur" urban transit system can be informed in real time on their mobile telephones about different routes, hours and possible disruptions. If the mobile phone is equipped with NFC technology, it is possible to buy a transit ticket and validate it, as well as have access to a variety of local services.
In use in Nice since 2010, this service is currently in operation under nine pilot projects in France. At the end of 2011, a potential one million travelers in France will be equipped with an NFC mobile.
